Where's all the snakes? Aug. 2nd, 2004 @ 01:22 am
Well we went through the whole month of July without seeing a single snake. I would have thought that July would be especially busy. August is probably the last month they can be spotted often, because September is when it starts to get cool. Get on your snake spotting shoes and hurry up before it's too late!

Yet another snake! Jul. 1st, 2004 @ 03:03 pm
When I was on my way to get the mail, I saw a long, skinny green snake just sitting in the sun. He had his head up and it looked like he had something in his belly. I watched him for a couple minutes and he was moving very slowly. I've been seeing a lot of snakes this year. Usually, I'll only see one or two. Untill I was a teenager, I had only ever seen two, and I was outside all the time. I sure hope the snakes aren't trying to take over! Either way, this is a good way to start the month!

The end of June and flat snakes Jun. 30th, 2004 @ 08:49 pm
Well this is the end of the first month of Snake tales. I would like to think you all for making this my most sucessful community yet! Hopefully someday the majority of the posts on here won't be mine.

Also, I saw a totally flat snake on the road yesterday. It was really sad. I'm not going to include this on the snake tally because it wasn't a snake anymore. What a way to end the month!

My dreams of snakes Jun. 25th, 2004 @ 01:59 am
Yesterday I dreamed that I saw a fairly large snake and then I talked about it on here. I really need to get a life!

Also, a couple of days ago, my parents saw a small snake while they were working on the pipes. At least I had a small story of a real snake. That's better than nothing!

Hey, I'm Mandy, and I live in Orlando, Florida. Today, while it was raining pretty hard, I saw this little guy swimming around in my poolCollapse )

He's about 9 maybe 10 inches long. I haven't much snake knowledge, so I was hoping somebody could tell me what kind of snake it is.
Thanks! :)

» I saw a snake! With tragic results
Today when I was driving I saw a big black snake taking a nap in the road. Unfortunately, there was a car coming from the other direction and I couldn't much avoid the poor little thing. I'm not positive that I hit it because the bump I felt might just have been the bad spot in the road, but when I looked back, the snake looked like it was in a lot of pain. I feel a little bad, but there was nothing I could do. And I get to update my community! If you ever want to see a snake or tarantula, just look on the roads in Arkansas. I'm sure it will help the snake count grow large!

Hi my name is Courtney and I haven't had any snake sightings that I can think of recently but I've been reading this great book by Barbara Kingsolver called Prodigal Summer and in it this lady watches after this pheobe (a bird) mother and her babies that have nested in the eaves of her porch because she loves animals, and one day she can't find them in their nest and she looks around and sitting in a big black coil is this snake and she can see three lumps in him where the babies he ate are and it was just a very sad sad part of the book and I almost cried because....those poor birds and their poor momma who can't hatch another brood before fall comes. So that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. G'day.
» I saw a snake!
Hello, this is my community for people who have seen snakes or will in the future. This is a place to come and talk about your snake sightings.

I will start things off by talking about the snake I saw today. It was a small brown one at my grandma's house in Mountain Home Arkansas. It was on the walk and slithered right beside my brother's foot! Then it went into the grass and I lost it, but it was fun while it lasted. I think it was a baby, but a snake nonetheless.

Anyway, please stop by to share your snake related stories with me. It will be fun.
